Brave New City: Brighton & Hove, Past, Present, Future
The irrepressible Anthony Seldon, former headmaster of Brighton College and the biographer of Tony Blair, hired me to produce this full-colour hardback – a polemic in favour of good architecture, which justly excoriates the awful.
Survivors
This is one of several war books I’ve prepared for publication under the author’s own Finsbury Press imprint. (Yes, you can be your own publisher if that suits you. It’s easy, and I’ll show you how.)
When Skies Were Always Blue
An evocative memoir of life between the wars – one of several I’ve published for The Friends of Lewes. This is a paperback with a mix of colour and black & white illustrations. The initial print run was 500 copies.
The Trail of the Serpent
James Gardner’s thoroughly researched and entertainingly written story of a notorious Victorian railway murder on the London–Brighton line. A paperback mainly in black and white, but with two colour illustrations – adding just a little to the cost.
Where There is Hatred
A novel with no pretensions to best sellerdom. Uncle had written it, and his niece wanted 50 copies to give to family members at his 80th birthday party – with one special copy in hardback for the author. A unique present.
Family Memories 1840–2007
A delightful little family history, packed with old photographs and colourful stories. The author, in her late 80s, decided to leave a lasting memento for the younger generations.
